Ranveer Singh Starrer much-awaited Film 83’s trailer is finally released, directed by Kabir Khan. Ranveer is playing the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The film is about the journey of the Indian cricket team. From being the underdogs to winning their first-ever World Cup in 1983 by beating the two times world cup winner, West Indies.
83 trailer starts with how the Indian cricket team was just considered a bunch of players, not so enthusiastic, not so popular and were seen very ordinary and less confident from whom no one had any expectations.
Pankaj Tripathi, who plays the team manager, tells Kapil, “35 saal pehle hum log azaadi jite, magar izzat jitna baaki hai, kaptaan (We had won independence 35 years ago, but we are yet to win respect, captain).”
From the trailer, we can admit that Ranveer Singh has completely given justice to Kapil Dev’s character, as the Indian team’s captain- his body language, Punjabi accent, and bowling and batting styles. The trailer also shows how Kapil Dev played a major role in managing and keeping the Indian cricket team together throughout the tournament. He is teaching them the right spirit and aspiration to win with the right sportsmanship attitude.
Apart from Ranveer Singh, we see Deepika Padukone essaying the role of Kapil’s wife, encouraging and supporting him during the tournament. The end of the trailer introduces us to the actors who played the character of 11 players who have helped India achieve its First World Cup in the year 1983. Produced by Kabir Khan, Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri and presented by Reliance Entertainment. 83 will release in theatres on December 24 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
