Ranveer Singh has shared the special song Sakht Jaan from his highly anticipated sports film 83. It shows the rare black and white moments of the 1983 world cup winning team players, which gave us the tour of India’s historic world cup win 38 years ago.
Ranveer shared the song on his Twitter handle. He captioned it, “Sakht jaan ruknay na de, sakht jaan thaknay na de! #SakhtJaan out now! 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Also in 3D. #ThisIs83.”
Sung by Amit Mishra with lyrics by Jaideep Sahni and music by Pritam. Sakht Jaan starts with a black and white group photo of the Indian cricket team that played at the 1983 world cup in England. In the song, clips from the film merged with the original pictures and videos of the Kapil Dev-led Indian team. It shows their performance on the field, injuries they faced, chilling moments from their free time and the celebration of the World cup win at Lord’s balcony.
Directed by Kabir Khan. 83 has been declared tax-free in Delhi ahead of its release on December 24. On December 15, at the world premiere, the film received a standing ovation at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah. Its trailer was also played on iconic Burj Kalifa in the same week.
83 will release on December 24, 2021.
