Lionsgate Play is ready to come up with its first Indian original show, ‘Hiccups and Hookups’ starring Prateik Babbar, Lara Dutta, and Shinnova. Rajkummar Rao introduced the show’s title and its characters to the viewers. He gave a sneak peek of the new Rao family in town as ‘shocking and not rocking.’
Sharing the news about the new show, Lionsgate Play shared the video introducing the show’s characters with Rajkummar. They captioned the post, “Save the date! The oh-so-crazy Raos are coming to your house from 26th November onwards, only on #LionsgatePlayIndia. So, block your calendars, grab a tub of popcorn, and snuggle up in your favorite blankey to enjoy a fun, crazy & out-of-control ride! #HiccupsAndHookups.”
In the video, Rajkummar refers to Lara Dutta’s character as a ‘modern Stree’ who is confused about her dating options. Then he revealed Prateik Babbar’s character, a guy who calls himself the ‘Newton of Relationships’ as he believes he knows the science of relationships inside out. Shinnova plays the teenage daughter of Lara Dutta’s character in the show. As per Rajkummar, she considers herself the ‘Queen of Relationships.’ But, eventually, she ends up getting caught in a situation that goes against her.
Directed by Kunal Kohli, who is known for films like ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Fanaa.’ Hiccups and Hookups is touted as a bold and progressive show about a family who doesn’t believe in filters or boundaries.
