Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited rural drama, Annaatthe’s trailer was released on October 27. In the film directed by Siva, Rajinikanth plays the role of a loving and protective brother of Keerthy Suresh and the love interest of Nayanthara. Annaatthe showcases the relationship shared by any brother-sister and also has action and some fight sequences.
The trailer introduces the story of Kaalaiyan (Rajinikanth), the panchayat president in a village. It depicts the life that he leads on a daily life along with his family. Keerthy Suresh essays the role of Rajinikanth’s sister, while Nayanthara is paired opposite him as the romantic lead. The makers showed the antagonists, played by Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, and Abhimanyu Singh. After their entry, they disrupt their lives. Later, Rajinikanth embarks on a journey of revenge.
Earlier, the filmmakers had unveiled the first single from the film titled ‘Annaatthe Annaatthe,’ sung by the late playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. The second track from Annaatthe, ‘Saara Kaatrae,’ is sung by Sid Sriram and Shreya Ghoshal. The romantic song features Rajinikanth and Nayanthara. The Siva-directed film is produced by Kalanithi Maran. Annaatthe is slated for a Diwali (November 4) release.
Rajinikanth recently received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. In his acceptance speech, he thanked three people who played a significant role in shaping his career – his mentor, the late filmmaker K Balachander, his elder brother Sathyanarayana Rao and his friend Raj Bahadur.
