Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for the release of her production, ‘Paani ‘, a Marathi drama that delves into the pressing issue of water crisis and environmental conservation. The teaser, which she unveiled on her social media, offers a glimpse into the ‘fight for survival’ depicted in the film.
The official teaser for Priyanka Chopra’s forthcoming Marathi film Paani was posted on Instagram on September 14, 2024. In the one-minute and 26-second teaser, scenes of people moving to the city and out of Marathwada are seen as those who remained behind taught the villages how to fight the drought.
The life of ‘Jaldoot,’ Hanumant Kendre, who is a pivotal character in the film, inspired the story. The trailer also features a flashback of the man recounting his story on Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan’s TV show. In addition to narrating his love tale, Paani tracks his quest for solutions to the water crisis in his village.
Priyanka captioned the photo, writing, “This is more than a story—it’s a fight for survival. #Paani.”
Under the direction of Addinath M. Kothare, ‘Paani’ features a talented ensemble cast including Subodh Bhave, Kishor Kadam, Addinath Kothare, and Rucha Vaidya. The film is a result of a collaborative effort, with Priyanka Chopra, Dr. Madhu Chopra, Neha Barjatya, Late Rajjat Barjatya, and Purple Pebble Pictures joining hands with Kothare Vision Pvt Ltd. for its production. The film presentation is by Rajshri Entertainment.
At the 66th National Film Awards, ‘Paani’ was honored with the title of Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation, a testament to its powerful storytelling and impactful message. The film is set to hit theaters on October 18, 2024, a date that fans and enthusiasts should mark on their calendars.
