Chhatrapati Tararani has taken Marathi cinema to an international level by becoming India’s first-ever Marathi Hollywood film. Akshay Bardapurkar’s Planet Marathi and Golden Ratio Films collaborated with the biggest independent studio Black Hangar and ORWO Studios, for the project. The film stars Sonalee Kulkarni in the lead role.
Akshay Bardapurkar recently shared the film’s motion poster on Twitter. He captioned the post, “Extremely delighted to announce our next Chhatrapati Tararani; it is also a proud moment that @PlanetMarathi #Goldenratiofilms collaborate with biggest independent studio @blackhangar @orwostudio to produce 1st Marathi Hollywood War Film.”
The 45-second motion poster video shows the lead actor Sonalee in a ferocious avatar. She with the sword in her hand and ready to fight with her enemies. Directed by Rahul Jadhav, and Sudhir Nikam is in charge of the project’s story, screenplay, dialogues.
The film is based on Chhatrapati Maharani Tarabai Bhosale, the queen of Chhatrapati Rajaram Bhonsale and daughter-in-law of the empire’s founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She was known for her role in keeping alive resistance against the Mughal occupation of Maratha territories after the death of her husband.
Sonalee is known for her appearances in the Hindi comedy film Grand Masti, wherein she played the role of Ritesh Deshmukh’s wife. She also made a cameo in Singham 2, starring Ajay Devgn.
