Paresh Rawal’s Gujarati Film Dear Father Releases In Feb Next Year

Paresh Rawal is returning to Gujarati Cinema after a span of 40-years. He recently announced his new Gujrati film Dear father, inspired by his play by the same name. Paresh shared the film’s first look poster and release date on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Paresh revealed the film’s poster with the caption, “Venus and I join hands to bring to you our Gujarati film #DearFather; in cinemas 4th Feb 2022. Feels delighted to return to Gujrati cinema after 40 years.”

Directed by Umang Vyas and produced by Ganesh Jain and Ratan Jain under the banner name Venus. Dear Father is based on Paresh’s play with the same name. The film also stars Manasi Parekh and Chetan Dhanani in pivotal roles. Dhanani was also a part of the original play. Its family drama revolves around three family members and their respective issues. Dear father will hit the screens on February 4, 2022

Speaking of the film, Paresh said to Hindustan Times, “Dear Father is a play that’s close to my heart. I wanted to turn this play into a film script for a long time, and I have been doing many plays for years and had exhausted most of them.” He added that the movie released in Gujarati, his mother tongue, ‘is meaningful and valuable’ to him.

Paresh was last seen in Hungama 2 and Hum Do Hamare Do, released globally on popular one of the popular OTT platforms. He will next be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s co-produced Sharmaji Namkeen. The film had late Rishi Kapoor playing the part, but Paresh agreed to step in after his demise.
