Pamela Chopra, the wife of late director and producer Yash Chopra, passed away Thursday morning at a hospital in Mumbai. She was 74 years old and had been a patient at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for 15 days.
Age-related problems led to Pamela Chopra’s admission. When her health started to decline, she was put on a ventilator, and on April 20, she passed away.
The official handle of YashRaj Films informed the fans about Pamela’s passing her cremation. The note read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform you that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers, and the family would like to request privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection.”
A well-known playback vocalist, Pamela advanced to become Yash Chopra’s rock. The late director frequently asked his wife for her thoughts on his films. Pamela Chopra wrote the script for “Kabhi Kabhie,” one of Yash Chopra’s best hits. She is also listed as co-authoring the 1997 hit song “Dil To Pagal Hai.”
Pamela Chopra had a strong affinity for music, and Yash Chopra made sure his wife attended the music sessions for his films.
