The first trailer for Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming thriller is out now. The film Mission Raniganj narrates the tale of one man’s mission to save the lives of helpless miners trapped in a coal mine. Parineeti Chopra also appears in the film as Akshay’s wife.
The trailer begins with a tragic accident in which a mine collapses on a large group of underground miners. They are shouting and begging for their lives to be saved, while on the other side, above the ground in Akshay Kumar, a rescue mission is about to begin. In the film, he portrays a Sikh engineer who will go to any extent to save the men’s lives.
The story of Mission Raniganj is based on the true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India’s first successful coal mine rescue mission.
The film will be out in theatres on October 6. The producers recently released the soundtrack Jalsa 2.0, which received positive reactions from fans. Satinder Sartaaj wrote the lyrics of the songs and sang them. Akshay and Parineeti were dressed in traditional Punjabi attire. The couple is seen dancing the Bhangra to catchy desi rhythms.
Tinu Suresh Desai directs Mission Raniganj, produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor. Previously, Akshay teamed with filmmaker Tinu Suresh Desai on the crime thriller Rustom.
The film will be released alongside Bhumi Pednekar’s next film, Thank You for Coming, helmed by Karan Boolani and starring Shehnaaz Gill.
