Aamir Khan Productions’ next film ‘Lahore, 1947’ has one of the century’s most famous creative personalities. This incredible effort brings together Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Aamir Khan. Interestingly, this will be Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) 17th film under their banner.
Aamir Khan will produce under Aamir Khan Productions, and Rajkumar Santoshi will direct the project. Sunny Deol will play the lead role in the film. With the talented trio of Sunny, Aamir, and Santoshi collaborating on the historic project, it will be a ‘can’t miss’ for Indian moviegoers and audiences.
Aamir Khan Productions announced the news in a note that stated, “I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny and one of my favourite directors, Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be the most enriching. Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol previously collaborated on three box office hits, Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak. Given their track record, it’s only logical to expect their future project to be nothing short of epic. Additionally, Sunny Deol recently smashed the box office with Gadar 2, a 500 crore plus mega-blockbuster!
What makes the announcement a lot more impressive is that Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan have already had highly famous box-office clashes as competitors, with both eventually emerging victorious. The first legendary duel at the box office occurred in 1990 when Aamir Khan’s Dil and Sunny Deol’s Ghayal were released on the same day. Then came Raja Hindustani vs Ghatak in 1996, followed by the most epic Box Office clash in Indian cinema in 2001, when Lagaan was released on the same day as Gadar. For the FIRST TIME, the duo has collaborated on a project! Sunny and Aamir fans are in for a double treat.
‘Lahore, 1947’ also marks the reuniting of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their renowned cult film, Andaz Apna Apna. With such iconic and accomplished creative names teaming forces for the first time, our audiences are in for a wonderful treat.
