Last year, fans were taken aback when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West announced their divorce. Kardashian spoke with Dear Media’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on how the couple handled their split at first and where they are now, following the rapper’s public outbursts about her new relationship with Pete Davidson.
Kim said that attending the rapper’s Donda album premiere event was difficult for her due to their divorce. According to the SKIMS founder, after filing for divorce, the couple went months without speaking to each other. She continued, “Talking about the same thing, “We went off and on. We went about eight months without even speaking to each other at the beginning of the divorce. And then we started talking again, and I went to the Donda premiere”, via People.
Kardashian stated that she hopes Kanye and her can rekindle their friendship and that she does not criticise him for his actions. Kim noted that the couple will always have “love for one other” and always treasure the time they spent together.
She also addressed where the former relationship stands following Kanye’s viral attacks, saying, “We’re always going to be cool and family, even if it doesn’t look that way. Like, it’ll always end up that way. So everything will always be okay.”
