K.G.F. Chapter 2 stars Yash Raj and had a 400 crore plus opening weekend in India.

The weekend box office figures are in, and Yash Raj’s K.G.F. Chapter 2 earned an estimated Rs. 442 crores during its four-day extended opening weekend in India. My colleague Himesh Mankad saved me a lot of time and effort by naming roughly 30 of them in his report, which saved me a lot of time and effort. The four-day totals are the second-highest in Indian box office history, trailing only Baahubali 2, which grossed Rs. 462.25 crores in its first four days in 2017. It outperformed R.R.R., which was released a few weeks ago and grossed Rs. 398 crores in its first four days.

K.G.F. 2 crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark for the second time on Sunday, after missing the three-digit mark on Saturday. That puts the film three days above Rs. 100 crores, with Baahubali 2 leading the way with four days, while R.R.R. only had two. The film is expected to reach Rs. 500 crores in India today, thanks to weekend spillover, which will keep the box office strong on Monday. If it misses it by a whisker, it will be completed by Tuesday AM at the very latest. The film is already India’s eighth highest grosser with only weekend revenues. It will swiftly climb to number three tomorrow, only behind two S.S. Rajamouli films, one of which, R.R.R., will attempt to top in the coming weeks.
