Ishaan Khattar Starrer upcoming war film Pippa is scheduled to release in theatres on December 9, 2022. Makers announced the film’s release date on the 50th anniversary of the Vijay Diwas, 1971 Indo-Pak war that led to the liberation of Bangladesh. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon and Produced by RSVP and Roy Kapoor Films.
Sharing the news about the film’s release date, the official Twitter handle of RSVP shared some pictures from the film and captioned it, “On the 50th anniversary of #VijayDiwas, we salute the bravery of the Indian soldiers who fought to liberate Bangladesh #1971 #PIPPA releasing in cinemas on 9th Dec 2022.”
The film is based on the book ‘The Burning Chaffees,’ written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. The film’s title is taken from the war tank called the PT-76, popularly known as Pippa. The war drama shows the heroic tank battle and the bravery of Brigadier Mehta, who fought on the eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. Which eventually led to the liberation of Bangladesh. Ishaan will essay the role of Brigadier Mehta.
Taking to Instagram, Ishaan wrote about his experience of shooting Pippa. He shared sneak peek pictures from the film and wrote, “Blood sweat and tears. In the midst of the shoot and it’s already one of my best filming experiences so far. We’re putting in the work to bring an honest, visceral and authentic story of bravado and sacrifice, but also comradeship and brotherhood to the big screens for you… and, lest I forget – the story of an army family navigating a war. 9th December 2022. Mark the date.”
The film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan. Pippa will hit screens on December 9, 2022.
