Indian Idol season 12 was memorable for many reasons. This show provided a platform for some of the most skilled performers in the country. Sayali Kamble, one of the runners-up of the recent season, recorded her first song for the Marathi film Kolhapur Dairies.
Kolhapur Diaries is an official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster, ‘Angamaly Diaries. Directer Joe Rajan will be directing the film and produced by Select Media Holding. It also stars Bhushan Patil and Mahesh Shetty as the leads. The Indian Idol singer lent magical vocals for a film song for the first time in her life. The song is composed by famous music composer Avadhoot Gupte.
Avadhoot Gupte confirmed the news by sharing it on Twitter. He posted a picture of him with Sayali Kamble. He wrote, “When a #marathimulgi makes it into the Top3 in #IndianIdol2021.. She deserves a #filmsong as her #prize .. So Gave it #immediately !! Proud of You #sayalikamble”.
Sayali Kamble was the first singer from the show to win the golden mike that marks her entry to the final round. Brought up in a middle-class family in Mumbai, the 24-yr-old singer had also participated in the Voice of India and the Marathi singing reality show – Gaurav Maharashtracha. She later received recognition as a Marathi singer and performed at several musical concerts across Maharashtra.
