The first glimpse of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was officially released by the web show’s makers today, on February 1. With an ensemble cast that includes the incredibly gifted Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Sharmin Segal, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, the series is directed by the renowned Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The world in which “courtesans were once queens” is what the show revolves around.

With his majestic, unique flair in Heeramandi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali gives stories of love and betrayal in the lives of courtesans in pre-independence India. The program explores the cultural realities of Heeramandi by telling tales of courtesans and their patrons set against the backdrop of the 1940s Indian Freedom movement.

The show’s official streaming date is still awaited. But in 2024, the show is anticipated to debut on Netflix. “Here’s your first look at legendary Indian creator Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first series EVER: Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar!” Netflix India captioned a photo of the first look on Instagram.

Praised as the biggest and most anticipated TV show of the year, it explores an epic tale of power, love, freedom and revenge. The series is anticipated to be a profound celebration of beauty, culture, art, and Bhansali’s legacy.
