Fans have been anticipating the trailer for the highly anticipated Gadar: Ek Prem Katha sequel with bated breath ever since it was revealed. The level of anticipation among all the fans increased each time a photo from the Gadar 2 sets was released. Before the sequel’s release, the first film, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, was just rereleased in theatres. With the release of the Gadar 2 teaser and Sunny’s return as Tara Singh against the Pakistanis today, the filmmakers made sure to take viewers back in time.
Gadar 2’s teaser makes it abundantly evident that the action occurred in 1971. The Crush India campaign in Pakistan is in full force, including protests against Indians. In the midst of all, the tough Tara Singh makes his entry in his severe Tara Singh avatar. Sunny is prepared for battle, sporting a full beard, a kurta pyjama, and a turban around his neck. Although Sakina (Ameesha Patel) was not shown in the teaser, we did hear a tiny part of the famous song Udd Ja Kale Kawa towards the end.
On January 26, 2023, the makers of Gadar 2 released the first look poster. Sunny Deol says the movie will open in theatres on August 11, 2023. He stated, “Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega!This Independence Day, we bring to you the biggest sequel in Indian cinema after two decades. #Gadar2 releasing in Cinemas on 11th August 2023.”
