Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol, will premiere on ZEE5 on October 6, the platform declared on Wednesday. Anil Sharma directed the film, which saw Deol reprise his legendary character of Tara Singh from 2001’s Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film, produced by Zee Studios, also stars Ameesha Patel as Sakeena and Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet. ZEE5, the Zee Entertainment Enterprises-owned streaming service, announced the digital launch on its official X page.
ZEE5 stated in the post, “The countdown begins! Tara Singh is all set to win your hearts! India’s Biggest Blockbuster is coming on #ZEE5 in just 2 days! #Gadar2OnZEE5.”
Gadar 2 was released in theatres on August 11. The Hindi period action drama has made about 500 crore till now, making it one of the huge box office successes since the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Gadar 2 earned 40 crores on its first day in theatres. It was the third-best opening of 2023, after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan.
The film Gadar 2 is the sequel to the 2001 smash film. In the movie, Sunny Deol played Tara, a truck driver, set during India’s partition in 1947, while Ameesha Patel portrayed Sakina.
The makers of Gadar 2 recently held a grand success celebration in Mumbai, where several famous stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan, Salman Khan, Dharmendra, Kiara Advani, and Shilpa Shetty, were there.
