In the first official look at the aerial action movie, Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Hrithik), Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Deepika), and Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Anil Kapoor), together with their elite Indian Air Force (IAF) unit, give it their all for the country. Most of the movie was filmed in Indian air bases using real Sukhoi fighter planes.
A new, special force called Air Dragons is put into service by the Air Headquarters due to the out-of-control militant actions in the Srinagar Valley. Whenever there is hostile activity, they are now the first to react. They comprise the best combat aviators, personally chosen from throughout the IAF. Fighter narrates the story of Air Dragons who, despite facing both internal and external battles, are willing to sacrifice all for their country.
Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone work together for the first time in Fighter. After the successful smash of Pathaan in 2023, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, and Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008, this is Deepika’s third movie with Siddharth Anand. Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan have worked together on films like War, an action movie from 2019, and Bang Bang, a movie from 2014.
In addition to Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, and Anil Kapoor, Fighter also stars Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover. The movie is planned for release in theatres on January 25, 2024.
