2 States actor’s funeral to be held today in Mumbai
Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, who played Sanya Malhotra’s onscreen father in Meenakshi Sundareshwar, has died. The actor’s final ceremonies will occur today, April 11, at Mumbai’s Mokshdham Hindu Shamshanbhoom, with cremation to follow. Subramaniam was a supporting actor who appeared in films such as 2 States, Rocky Handsome, and Hichki. Jahaan, the actor’s only son, died recently of a brain tumour, just two weeks before his 16th birthday.
The funeral for Subramaniam will take place this morning. His cremation will take place at Mokshdham Hindu Shamshanbhoom in Mumbai.
Subramaniam is recognised for penning the screenplays for films such as 1942: A Love Story, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Arjun Pandit, Chameli, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, and Teen Patti. He began his acting career in 1989 with the film Parinda.
In addition to 2 States, ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday,’ ‘Prahar,’ ‘Hichki,’ ‘Kaminey,’ Rocky Handsome,’ and ‘Stanley Ka Dabba,’ the late actor was noted for his exceptional performances in films such as ‘Prahar,’ ‘Hichki,’ ‘Kaminey,’ Rocky Handsome,’ and ‘Stanley Ka Dabba. Subramaniam was recently seen in Meenakshi Sundareshwar, a Netflix film directed by Karan Johar in which he played Sanya Malhotra’s father.
