Since its announcement, everyone has focused on Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming movie, Chamkila. The film, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, is based on the life of late Punjabi artist Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur. Until now, we’ve seen all BTS photos from the sets and first looks. But at last, a teaser for the movie has been released along with the release date by Netflix India.
Netflix India released a new teaser for Chamkila on their Instagram account. Diljit can be heard asking questions in the background in the teaser, “Log kya sunna chahte hai? Unhe kis cheez me maza aata hai?” Diljit further states, “Wo main kar sakta hoon.”
We also get a preview of the movie’s title music in the teaser. With the release of this teaser, Netflix reveals that the Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra film will be available for streaming on its platform on April 12.
The caption for the video read, “Maahaul bann jaata tha jab vo chedta tha saaz, Kuch aisa hi tha Chamkila ka Andaaz @imtiazaliofficial’s #AmarSinghChamkila arriving on April 12, only on Netflix!”
The movie will tell the story of Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur, who was assassinated on March 8, 1988, along with other members of their musical gang. Imtiaz Ali became intrigued by the story because of the journey and intrigue surrounding their assassination, which is still unresolved.
The movie Chamkila will be Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh’s first collaboration. The movie’s soundtrack is likewise unreleased. However, there is talk that Imtiaz Ali and his crew are working on a special album for fans.
