Dhanush starrer bilingual upcoming film Sir (In Telugu) began its production in Hyderabad on Monday, and it is also titled Vaathi in Tamil. The film is billed as an ‘ambitious journey of a common man,’ written and directed by Venky Atluri of ‘Rang De’ and ‘Tholiprema’ fame.
On January 3rd, Dhanush attended the puja with the film’s cast and crew in Hyderabad. Taking to Twitter, the film’s production house, Sithara Entertainments shared pictures from the film’s pooja ceremony. They captioned it, “An Auspicious start to an Ambitious Journey of a common man, #Vaathi / #Sir took off today with a Pooja. Regular Shoot from 5th Jan!”
Filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas gave the first clap for Film Sir. The pictures of Dhanush and Trivikram interacting during the puja ceremony went viral on social media.
Produced by Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya of Fortune Four Cinemas. The film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar and edited by Navin Nooli. Sir also stars Samyuktha Menon in the female lead.
Dhanush was last seen in director Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, co-starring Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in a special role. It was released on December 24, 2021, on Disney Plus Hotstar.
