The title teaser for Thalaivar 171, starring Rajinikanth, was revealed today, ending all the anticipation. The official title of the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film is Coolie.
The movie’s official title is revealed in the title teaser, which features the Superstar’s grand and stylish introduction. The makers have also chosen a black-and-white layout with only gold highlighted in color for the teaser. A famous callback to Rajinikanth’s past dialogue appears alongside that.

The Superstar can be seen in the more than three-minute teaser fighting out the villains one by one as they try to attack him. In addition, the actor’s narration of the dialogue is an iconic moment for fans of Thalaivar because it comes from his 1982 film Ranga.
Interestingly, Anirudh Ravichander’s background score repeats the Thangamagan movie’s song Vaa Vaa Pakkam Vaa. The late singers SP Balasubrahmanyam and Vani Jairam provided the vocals for the song, which maestro Ilaiyaraaja originally penned.
It’s Rajinikanth and Lokesh’s first movie together. The film, announced in September of last year, is produced by Sun Pictures. The remaining cast and crew members have not yet been revealed, but Sivakarthikeyan is rumored to have an important role in the movie. Stunt coordinators Anbariv and composer Anirudh Ravichander have been appointed for the movie.
