Thunivu, starring Ajith Kumar (also known as Thala), has successfully concluded a 50-day epic run in theatres and has proven to be a huge success.
The film producer, Boney Kapoor, took to his social media and shared a poster and wrote, “#Thunivu50thDay #AjithKumar #HVinoth.”
An action heist film written and directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Ajith Kumar in the lead role, with Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay and Veera in supporting roles.
On January 11, 2023, during the Pongal week, Thunivu was released in theatres and still plays today. The film represents Ajith, Boney Kapoor, and Vinoth’s second collaboration; the trio previously worked on Valimai, which was delayed repeatedly owing to COVID before being released with relatively little success.
Nonetheless, Thunivu debuted with theatres packed to capacity and generated a staggering 250 Cr, defeating Vijay starrer Varisu, which debuted opposite Ajith Kumar starrer in theatres.
Fans adore the songs Chilla Chilla, Kasethan Kadavulada, and Gangstaa from Thunivu’s music album, which is also a huge success.
The movie was later distributed on Netflix, and Kalaignar TV purchased the satellite rights to the movie.
