“Being Producer, I Made Sure Everyone Have Fun On Sets”, Says Vidyut Jammwal

For his upcoming spy thriller IB-71, actor Vidyut Jammwal has switched to producing. He claims that as a producer, he ensured there was no hierarchy on the set, and everyone had fun.

Vidyut Jammwal, along with Sankalp Reddy, Vishal Jethwa and Dalip Tahil, was interacting with the media on the sidelines of the IB-71 trailer launch.

When asked about turning producer and his experience, Vidyut said, “Before I turned producer, it is my experience whether it is south or Hindi movie set, if the cast and crew are having fun on sets, that film works. So as a producer, I am unsure about the pain, but we had fun. There was no hierarchy. This place was for the hero. This space was for the villain. Everyone was all over the place, so as a producer, I had fun and ensured other people had fun. I enjoyed it thoroughly.”

Vidyut often plays the saviour on-screen and credits his role selection based on genes. He said, “I think it is also in my genes and destiny. My father and grandfather were in the army, and they were saving someone or the other through their lives, and I am doing it on screen. And I think if I keep on doing it more, it will be better.”

IB71, which also features Anupam Kher significantly, told the tale of an operation carried out during the 1971 War but was kept secret for 50 years.

The project is being directed by Sankalp Reddy, who previously oversaw The Ghazi Attack and is supported by T-Series Film, Reliance Entertainment, and Action Hero Films. On May 12, 2023, the movie will have its theatrical debut.
