Ayushmann Khurrana has shared the new release date of his upcoming film Anek, directed by Anubhav Sinha. It will mark the actor’s second collaboration with The director. Previously, both have worked together in the 2019 film, Article 15. Anek will hit the theatres on May 13, 2022.
Sharing the film’s poster on Twitter, Ayushmann wrote, “It takes just one to make a difference.” and added that it is “Time to unite as Ek! Jeetega Kaun? Hindustan! #Anek IN CINEMAS 13.05.2022.”
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha in association with Benaras Media Works and T-Series. Anek was supposed to release in late March, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, makers decided to shift the release date to May.
Speaking about the film to ETimes, Anubhav Sinha said, “It was a challenging film to write and a difficult one to make. We shot it in rough terrain but what makes it special is that the takeaway was so gratifying. It was a delight to work with Ayushmann again, who with his depiction of Joshua breathed life into the story.”
The theme and subject of this film are unique, and it’s not been touched by any other filmmakers in the industry and has been picturized at some beautiful locations in North East India. The filmmaker confirms that this film is his most ambitious and expensive project.
Anek will release in Theatres on May 13, 2022.
