Ajay Devgn sets the tone brilliantly in the film’s starting prologue. The story revolves around Zooni Haskar, an ID field officer who, in an encounter, kills Burhan Wani, a headmaster’s son and leader of the Mujahideen. But this action has tragic consequences, putting Kashmir into a state of crisis as people stone-pelt in a furious protest against Wani’s death. In the middle of all chaos, Zooni is transferred to Delhi and suspended from the ID. The story goes on until she receives an invitation from Rajeshwari Swaminathan, Joint Secretary in the PMO, to head the NIA to bring stability back to the valley and eventually revoke Section 370.
