The movie Ghoomer, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher, is now screening in theatres. The eagerly awaited sports drama, directed and written by R Balki, portrays an inspirational story of a paraplegic cricket player who, under the guidance of an ex-player and coach, fights against all odds to fulfil her dream of playing for the Indian national women’s cricket team. Amitabh Bachchan wrote an emotional letter to Abhishek as the movie opened in theatres today, praising his acting career and the complex characters he has played in movies.
Amitabh Bachchan posted a heartfelt tweet for Abhishek Bachchan on his Twitter account. As Abhishek’s father and a member of the movie industry, Amitabh penned this letter. The veteran actor appreciated Abhishek’s talent for successfully and convincingly interpreting even the most complicated characters in films. The movie Ghoomer, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher, was inspired by the story of Karoly Takacs, a late right-handed shooter from Hungary who achieved two Olympic gold medals with his left hand after suffering a terrible injury to his other hand. Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, Angad Bedi, and Shabana Azmi also appear in Ghoomer. Amitabh Bachchan plays a guest role in the movie as well.
