Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming biographical film Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh, will surely entertain the audience. The filmmakers have now increased viewers’ curiosity by releasing an intriguing movie trailer.
At a grand trailer launch event on Thursday, the Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra film’s makers unveiled the trailer for Amar Singh Chamkila. The trailer offers a glimpse into the life of Amar Singh Chamkila, who went from factory work making socks to becoming one of Punjab’s most famous musicians before becoming the target of shooters due to the “vulgarity” of his songs.
Additionally, the trailer revealed that the movie was filmed in real locations. The original rock star of Punjab, Amar Singh Chamkila, known as the “Elvis Presley of Punjab,” is introduced to us. Moreover, the video will take audiences to the colourful and rhythmic world of Punjabi folk music, all the way to the rural Akhadaas, where Chamkila used to roar with his voice. It is also evident from the video that Parineeti Chopra will be seen as Chamkila’s singing partner and wife, Amarjot.
Amar Singh Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is centred on the life and assassination of well-known Punjabi artist Amar Singh Chamkila. The movie, which stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, will be released on Netflix on April 12.
