Actress Kangana Ranaut responded to rumours that her new movie, Emergency, had been permitted to film inside Parliament on her Instagram account. According to an earlier report by the news agency PTI, Kangana asked the Lok Sabha Secretariat for permission to film inside the Parliamentary premises. It also stated that she is likely to be denied, whereas her letter is being considered.
Kangana shared a picture on Tuesday that said, “First time a movie is allowed to shoot in parliament, a small segment of the Emergency movie will shoot soon in parliament.” The actor responded by writing, “That’s not true. It’s fake news!!!”
Sources with the PTI previously stated that Kangana wrote the Lok Sabha Secretariat a letter. In the letter, she asked permission to shoot the movie on the Emergency on Parliament premises. According to sources, private entities often are not permitted to film or record any videography inside Parliament buildings.
For anything official or government work, it may be a different situation, though. Only a few can film events or programs within Parliament, including the public broadcasters Doordarshan and Sansad TV.
Kangana created and directed the political drama Emergency. The actor will portray the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the movie. Kangana stated on the anniversary of her passing, “Bharat ki Pratham Mahila Pradhan Mantri, Bharat Ratan Srimati Indira Gandhi ji ki puniye tithi par unhe naman (Salute to India’s first Prime Minister, awardee of Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary) #IndiraGandhi.”
In addition to Kangana, other prominent actors in the movie include Milind Soman, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Shreyas Talpade and Satish Kaushik. In June of this year, filming for Emergency got underway, and the production crew for the movie had just finished its work in Assam. In 2021, Kangana announced the movie Emergency. The script is penned by Ritesh Shah, who also wrote Dhaakad, Kangana’s last movie, which bombed at the box office.
