After the film Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor claims to have a “Sanjay Dutt hangover”: I started smiling and walking like him.

Two of Bollywood’s most adored stars, Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, have a strong friendship. The actor from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had taken on Dutt’s role for the latter’s biopic Sanju, which grew their bond. Rajkumar Hirani worked as the film’s director, and it was released in 2018. Additionally, it has significant roles for Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, and Jim Sarbh. Fans continue to praise Ranbir for his performance in Sanju and have even called it the best of his career. Ranbir’s resemblance to Dutt in the movie was remarkable.

Ranbir recently discussed a “Sanjay Dutt hangover” following his performance in Sanju. The actor stated, “I never took a character at home. After I finished Sanju, I took time to get over the Sanjay Dutt hangover. This is because my eyes became like him, I started smiling like him, and I started walking like him. So that took a little time, but other than that, no other film.”

Shamshera, a period action movie directed by Karan Malhotra and starring Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla, and Ashutosh Rana, would feature Ranbir and Sanjay sharing screen time. On July 22, 2022, the movie will be screened in theatres.

In the meantime, Ranbir has a ton of movies in the process. He will appear in the fantasy movie Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring his wife, Alia Bhatt. In its cinematic universe named Astraverse, the film is meant to serve as the first chapter of a planned trilogy. The actor will then star alongside Rashmika Mandanna in the crime drama Animal, directed by Sandeep Vanga. After that, he’ll appear in a movie that hasn’t yet been given a name with Shraddha Kapoor.
