Lionsgate Play India has announced the new show Jugaadistan, directed by Akarsh Khurana and Adhaar Khurana. After the success of Hiccups and Hookups, they come up with the second original show for the streaming platform, and it explores the gritty aspects of the country.
Sharing the new poster of the show on Twitter, Lionsgate Play wrote, “Welcome to the world of Jugaadistan, jahaan pyaar, dosti, politics ho ya paise banaane ka scheme, har cheez ke liyein hai in sabke paas ek ultimate Jugaad ka scene. #Jugaadistan, a Lionsgate Play India original! Coming soon.”
Jugaadistan looks into various topics, including college politics, student dynamics, and side earnings, all of which are important in shaping people’s lives during their formative years. It is set on a large university campus. The series stars Sumeet Vyas, Parambrata Chatterjee, Arjun Mathur, and Rukshar Dhillon in pivotal roles.
As per the ANI report, speaking about the series, director Akarsh Khurana said, “As a filmmaker and storyteller, you are always looking to push the envelope and challenge yourself. I wanted to do just that when this presented itself. While I have done youth-centric college stuff before, this was like a different take on it. Like the darker side of our college years, and Delhi like we don’t see often.”
“We delve into an array of issues – college politics, student dynamics, side incomes – all of which are significant in how people’s lives are shaped in their formative years. After all, college is the beginning of the rest of your adult life, and the decisions we take then usually have far-reaching consequences. I also really enjoyed the track of investigative journalism and the quest for the truth that runs parallel to all the student shenanigans,” he added.
Jugaadistan will be out on March 4.
