The teaser of Ranveer Singh starrer highly-awaited film ’83 was released on Friday morning, directed by Kabir Khan. The film revolves around India’s Historical Cricket world cup win in 1983. It features Ranveer as Kapil Dev, the captain of the world cup winning team.
Ranveer shared the teaser of the film on his Twitter handle. Along with the teaser, he wrote, “The greatest Story. The greatest Glory. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Teaser out now. Trailer out on 30th Nov. #ThisIs83.”
The teaser starts with a visual of the glorious day of Indian cricket history, June 25, 1983. It recreates Ranveer as Kapil Dev dismissed Viv Richards by taking the running catch, which helped India to win the World Cup. The teaser ends with the people chanting ‘India Zindabad.’
Makers of the film had decided to release the film on April 10, 2020. But there were several changes in the release dates due to the pandemic and lockdowns. Now 83 will finally hit the screens on December 21, 2021.
The film also stars Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Chirag Patil, Sahil Khattar, Harrdy Sandhu, Jiiva, Jatin Sarna, Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani. Deepika Padukone will be seen playing Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi.
The trailer of the film ’83’ will release on November 30.
