Amazon miniTV – Amazon’s free video streaming service, dance reality show – Hip Hop India recently marked the closure of its phenomenal grand finale, unveiling the Hip Hop Champion. Ushering a quintessential era of the urban hip-hop culture along with spectacular performances from raw underground talent from all over India, the dance marathon was earnestly judged by the dancing gurus, Remo D’Souza and Nora Fatehi. Divyam and Darshan from Mumbai ki Gully were among the contestants, elevating the swashbuckling level of entertainment with their energetic, flamboyant performances.
Touching upon the memorable moments in the Hip Hop India bandwagon, Divyam expressed, “Performing in front of Remo Sir and Nora Ma’am, in my opinion, is the biggest appreciation. In India, a lot of people have embarked on the dancing journey, seeing them and it was a dream come true to perform in front of them. Hip Hop India made this goal a reality, and I created a lot of friends, and memories, and learned a lot along the road. Every facet of my Hip Hop journey was unique.”
Echoing a similar emotion, Darshan emphasized, “The journey of Hip Hop India was a rollercoaster ride because different emotions hit at different hours – sometimes confident, sometimes anxious and tense. We experienced a love like no other, something we hadn’t even imagined that we would receive. It was a great feeling.”
Darshan further went on to mention who his dance idols are. “It has to be Michael Jackson and Prabhu Deva sir because looking at their respective dance forms, I wonder, how is it humanly possible to bring the inner spark in their dance moves along with inspiring people across the world? Both of them are very versatile which brings in the fire in me to be as versatile as they are,” he enthusiastically quipped.
