Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar finally fulfilled the fans’ request by announcing the third instalment in his Don franchise. Shah Rukh Khan won’t be playing the role again because Farhan has rebooted the film. According to Farhan’s official announcement, Ranveer is the new face of Don.
The first image from Don 3 was released on Wednesday, August 9, by the film’s creators, including producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director Farhan Akhtar. It acts as Ranveer Singh’s Don announcement video as well. The video is jam-packed with energetic music and striking visuals. In his new persona, Ranveer can be seen looking dapper.
At first, his face is hidden, and he starts, “sher jo so raha hai woh jaagega kab, puchte hai ye sab. Unse keh do ki fir jaag utha hu main aur phir saamne jald aane ko…Kya hai taqat meri kya hai himmat meri phir dikhane ko. Maut se khelna zindagi hai meri jeetna hi mera kaam hai, tum toh ho jaante jo mera naam hai. 11 mulkon ki police dhundti hai mujhe par pakad paya hai mujhko kaun, main hun Don.” The renowned Don theme can be heard in the background as the teaser ends with a glimpse of Ranveer’s face.
Don’s third instalment is now in the making; the director formally confirmed yesterday. The director Farhan penned a long message praising Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan for their prior portrayals of the character Don. He also teased the latest Don and expressed his desire for the actor to receive positive feedback from the audience. The announcement said the film would be in theatres in 2025.
