The second song from Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, What Jhumka, is out now. The song features lead actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and is a fun dance number perfect for starting the party. Arijit Singh is the song’s singer, and it premiered live on Wednesday. The song takes the melody and some lyrics from the well-known Jhumka Gira Re and gives them their unique spin.
Dharma Productions released the song’s promo on Instagram on Monday with the caption, “You’ve heard of beat drop, mic drop, jaw drop moments, but now it’s time for the jhumka drop moment! #WhatJhumka, Song out tomorrow! #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani, a film by Karan Johar in his 25th anniversary year – in cinemas on July 28.”
The movie, directed by Karan Johar, will open in theatres on July 28 and stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles. The first song from the movie, Tum Kya Mile, and the official trailer were recently released, and both received overwhelmingly positive reactions from the audience.
The trailer gave us a glimpse into the opposite lifestyles of Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee. While Rani hails from a Bengali family where knowledge and intelligence are highly respected, Rocky is a Punjabi boy from a wealthy Punjabi family. And they start dating but quickly learn that their families don’t get along. Then, Rocky and Rani decide to “switch” and live with them to win over their families.
After six years, Karan is back in the director’s chair with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This is Ranveer and Alia’s second collaboration after their successful film Gully Boy.
