Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor writes a sincere letter of thanks to the whole Kai Po Che team as the movie approaches its tenth anniversary.
Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao, and Amit Sadh play the three major characters in the 2013 movie The 3 Mistakes of My Life, adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s book of the same name. Amrita Puri plays the female lead.
Sharing pictures from the sets, Abhishek Kapoor wrote, “When a movie hits a decade and still finds a place in people’s hearts it gets termed a Classic. I had the good fortune to work with 3 exceptional actors @sushantsinghrajput @rajkummar_rao & @theamitsadh. These boys were just dynamite together, throw in a thespian like @manavkaul and u have a recipe for an explosion that will reverberate a lifetime.. @amupuri thank u for stepping in and giving it that perfect dash of spice that pulled the flavour in the most delectable way. Abhishek Kapoor even shared candid pictures from Berlin Film Festival and wrote, “I remember our 2013 #berlinale premier and the reaction of the audience to it.. at the end of the screening there was a minute’s silence and then a standing ovation that felt like it lasted forever. I had never even dreamed that my film would screen at such a prestigious festival. I am eternally grateful to the universe for taking me through this joy ride and to my producers @ronnie.screwvala & #sidroykapur for believing in me and supporting me wholeheartedly. Their belief in me is what made #kaipoche #10yearsofkaipoche.”
At the 59th Filmfare Awards, Kai Po Che! was nominated for six awards, including Best Story, Best Supporting Actor (Rao), Best Male Debut (Rajput), and Best Director (Kapoor). Two honours were given to the movie: Best Writing went to Kapoor, while Best Background Score went to Hitesh Sonik.
