Anushka Sharma, an actor, is doing everything she can to portray cricketer Jhulan Goswami. She will be travelling to England soon to train in cricket for her upcoming movie, “Chakda Xpress.”
Anushka will prepare her body and spend a lot of time in Leeds honing her cricket skills before she begins filming the cricket scenes, according to a source close to the actor.
“She has always been a deeply committed artiste, and she wants to do justice to the role at hand. She will prep thoroughly and put herself through rigorous training exercises before she shoots the key scenes right from the end of August through September.”
After a three-year absence from the big screen (due to the epidemic and her maternity leave), Anushka will star in “Chakda Xpress,” an OTT release. Prosit Roy is directing the movie.
Talking about the film, Anushka said, “It is an extraordinary film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. ‘Chakda Xpress’ will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. When Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and women’s cricket.”
Anushka was last seen in ‘Zero’ in 2018.
